peripheral devices
exmaples of peripheral devices are printers, mouse, scanners, and monitors.
this can be useful in many different ways, printers mean that multiple omputer can use one printer. this is useful in the workplace as they wont have to pay for lots of printers.
scanners can be useful too for the exact same reason. the next way it can help is through the monitors, networking can allow you to do screen sharing with computers that are all on the same network

sharing files
networking allows you to share files between pople on different computers. this also has the problem of security but makes it easier to transfer files to lots of different people at once.

advantages and disadvantages of cryptography

cryptography
advanatges:
keeps the information confidential, as only the user will know the key and will provide it to people that may need to know.
cryptography also helps with authenticity. digital signatures are a good example of this.
the cytographic hash function turns a message into a string of data which helps with the datas integrity.

disadvantages:
some cryptography is very difficult to acces even for someone that is using the code.
cryptography doesnt help cover threats like denial of service or the complete breakdown of an informaiton system.
also poor deisgn of the cryptography could mean that there are some threats that come from the cryptography.

Electronic signature
Advantages:
saves time as its quicker to receive all the signatures at once online then to go collect them or to wait for them in the post.
less human errors, there is no issue with it being lost or not arriving or being in bad condition.
it makes its more paper efficient as they wouldnt have to store/waste paper

disadvantages:
some people dont like the lack of secuirity when sending their information online.
less techinical people may find they have trouble understanding or using the e signatures.
there is the cost og security for all the signatures that are recieved.
